Open Auditions & Talent Call
Theatre du Mississippi is ready for some holiday magic, and we want YOU to be part of it!
This year’s Radio Show is an original script written by Karl Gfall and directed by Michael Opiola, featuring a very special episode of “R. Dashiell, Mississi-P.I.” We are bringing together The Shadow and Prairie Home Companion vibes to create a Winona Special!
Richard Dashiell, former west coast gumshoe and Winona, MN’s most recent addition must grapple with Minnesota niceties, an estranged business partner, and the spirit of the season to help a mysterious woman save Santa, and perhaps Christmas itself.
ANNOUNCER - Jolly sounding for the radio hour, soft and spooky for the R. Dashiell episode
RICHARD DASHIELL - Monotone and self serious, typical hard boiled detective except when the artifice gives way
HOLLY HAMMETT - A dry delivery to match DASHIELL. Can be played with your favorite classic voice; Bacal, either Hepburn, etc.
CHARLIE CHICORY - Male or female this person is essentially Charlie Bergens
DAHLIA DICKENS - Same or similar voice as HOLLY, but with a sneering, mobby dialect.
KRIS HAMMETT - He sounds exactly like Santa.
TRACY CHANDLER - RICHARDs former partner. As brassy and annoyed as a light midwestern accent can sound.
CANDICE KANE - Winona Police Commissioner. Has a voice that makes you think she has a mustache, like a big bushy one.
TINY TIM - Mostly communicates through intimidating growls
TWO FOLEY ARTISTS - Live sound effects specialists!
