Playwriting for Social Change

Theatre for Social change is an interactive community centered practice. This workshop serves two purposes. First, attendees will learn theory behind Theatre for Social Change. They will learn about the history and practice of Theatre for Social Change. They will explore different styles of story telling and devised theatre.

Second, attendees will work together to create a short devised theatre project to better understand the process. They will collaboratively identify a focus for the piece of theatre. They will research and highlight the voices most impacted by this injustice. They will then choose a style of theatre of social change to devise the piece in. They will walk away with the tools to replicate this process in their own communities.

Location: Zoom - Recording Available for up to 3 months after listed workshop date.
Registration Required. Zoom information sent the day before workshop.
